Thinking World Philosophies

Series Editor(s): Takeshi Morisato

The primary place to decolonise philosophy and to explore the vast intellectual reservoirs of world philosophies

This series has three main aims: first, to provide translations of primary sources that represent the field of world philosophies; second, to publish edited volumes that focus on philosophical themes that run through diverse spheres of world philosophies, and third, to produce monographs that are complementary to the first two. The series as a whole promotes cross-cultural perspectives that remain faithful to the ideal of open dialogue among a plethora of world intellectual traditions. Without privileging one tradition over the other, it supports the field of world philosophies with its ongoing challenges of decolonising and decentralising mainstream philosophy, encouraging readers to go beyond the singular representation of philosophical thinking within the confines of the European tradition.
