Reading Guides to Long Poems

Series Editor(s): Isobel Armstrong, Sally Bushell

This series aims to transform current readings of the long poem and enable students and scholars alike to re-engage with the long poem as a vital form. The volumes provide generous extracts, or in some cases complete poems, from significant works by canonical authors of both genders across all periods combined with a reading guide.

Key Features:

  • Centres on the reading and teaching of the long poem with a view to reviving the form
  • Brings together extracts from texts, interpretation and teaching elements in one package
  • Focuses on core canonical texts widely studied in the UK and the US
  • Provides expert advice from enthusiastic lecturers who have taught the poems

We’re not currently seeking proposals for this series, but please feel free to get in touch with the Liteary Studies Commissioning Editor to find out about other opportunities in your field.
