We are over the moon to have been shortlisted for the British Book Awards in the Academic, Educational & Professional Publisher of the Year category.

Edinburgh University Press' entry celebrated our best-ever year for books and journals. Our turnover increased by 11% to pass £3 million for the first time. We published a record 191 new books and 42 journals – including two journals new to EUP, Costume and Moreana – and acquired a further four journals.

Recognising that our financial success is based on the exceptional efforts of our staff, we were also proud to showcase our efforts to make sure our staff feel valued. We defined our vision, mission and core values, so that all staff know what the Press expects of them, and what they can expect from the Press in turn. We have also started a company newsletter with all the latest stats, sales and company gossip to improve internal communication, and rolled out a staff reward scheme where anyone can nominate a colleague to receive a much-coveted £50 John Lewis voucher for going above and beyond their day-to-day responsibilities.
