Isobel Armstrong

Isobel Armstrong is an internationally renowned scholar and critic of nineteenth-century poetry, literary theory and woman's writing. She is Emeritus Professor of English at Birkbeck College, a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of English Studies University of London, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Her publications include Women's Poetry, Late Romantic to Late Victorian: Gender and Genre, 1830-1900, edited with Virginia Blain (Macmillan, 1999), Women's Poetry in the Enlightenment: The Making of a Canon, edited with Virginia Blain (Macmillan, 1999), Nineteenth-Century Women Poets: An Oxford Anthology, edited with Joseph Bristow and Cath Sharrock (Oxford University Press, 1998) and Victorian Poetry: Poetry, Politics and Poetics (Routledge,1993).
